The Zócalo from a roof on Moneda Street

October is over and the national parties as well. The lights in the Zócalo, the big eagle in front of the Cathedral, and the little carts selling Mexican flags will disappear from the big square that is so important to public and political life in Mexico City. The Zócalo is where rallies, protests, gatherings and even concerts take place quite often, which makes it the most used public space by chilangos.

If you hang out in the Zócalo for even a moment, you will witness one of the best scenes in Mexico City, whether walking around the square or from the terraces of the many beautiful buildings that surround it.
